About

Reflections, Musings, Rants & Stories from the road.

My parents wanted to name me Anjulina, but the Nepali nurse (who was probably more familiar with Anjali as most Hindus would be) wrote ‘a’ instead of ‘u’ on my birth certificate; so its Anjalina now. That was in Hong Kong. My family came back to India in 1994 and that’s when my life and personality changed 180 degrees. Life’s been rock and roll since! I’ve always enjoyed adventure and moving around, so I even got a degree in Travel/Tourism (Management), only to realise that the job wouldn’t have me travel so much as I would have wanted. Huh!

But my real ‘travel’ was a trek I made to Muktinath, Nepal in 2010 that had me fall in love with travel, trekking, mountains, nature and the sheer joy of meeting people, being in different places, seeing new cultures and everything tourism could bring to an individual. Some time around then, I was even assisting for a travel documentary show. It was a dream job! But again, I discovered I was an introverted extrovert after all, a bit too shy for the camera (Also the reason why I could never get onto vlogging myself). I changed careers, life happened and in 2015 I finally started a blog. But! Whaam! Social media barged into the world, before I could even understand what was happening. Instagram took over, and I scrapped my blog because it didn’t have a niche and vlogs had overtaken the market anyway. Sometimes I wonder if I had just continued doing travel, maybe I would have been a successful travel/trek guide or a cool travel writer. Anyway!

Fast-forward to 2025 now. I took a trip after a long time and ended up taking so many photographs, like in the olden days, that I wanted to share and utilise them. But more than that, the people I met on the road, the stories I’ve collected, reminded me of my love for travel. My faith in travel, my teacher.

So here I am, where I should have stayed, sharing simple stories from my travels, for a chilled out, easy-going, slow content-loving audience who can relate with me. No itineraries, travel tips and advice, because come on, there are tons of amazing people already doing that. I did enough of that in my first travel job anyway!

In a world ruled by trends, algorithms, reels and videos, I have no idea what I’m headed for. I’m mostly here to document my encounters, give my photos a place, and because I kind of miss writing. So, if you like light-hearted reads, raw writings, occasional wit, humour and rants, then I would love to have you stay here with me. I hope you’ll find some meaning being here 🙂

Thank you!
